Main Street Day Ripon CA
I was thrilled to be able to photograph the 34th Annual Main Street Day, held October 19th this year. One thing I’ve grown to love quickly since our transplant to Ripon is the strong sense of community here and that was on full display at the Main Street Day Festival. Organized by the Ripon Chamber of Commerce it is a wonderful fall festival that boasts something for everyone. A special shout-out to Chamber Director, Kelly Donahue, as well as Cassandra Palafox, Catie Carrel and the many volunteers that made this day happen.
The morning began with the highly anticipated Ripon Fire Department Pancake Breakfast. The plates piled high with buttery pancakes, eggs, bacon and fruit and served by our local firefighters, was a great way to start the day! But we saved room for all the delightful food vendors and their offerings throughout the festival.
There were so many vendors, creating an amazing street market. I am a strong proponent of supporting local businesses and this was a way to shop them all at once. Hand-made crafts from local artists, clothing, products from area farms; you name it, you could find it at Main Street Day!
As we headed into the afternoon, we were treated to live music, including local performers and music groups from area schools. There were antique automobiles on display at the fantastic car show and yes, and a Harley Davidson raffled off by the Ripon Quarterback Club. Proceeds from the raffle went to local school sports.
